February 2021

Dear Fort St. John Curling Club Membership,

With the most recent PHO update from Doctor Bonnie Henry, we are sadly unable to open up for the remainder of our 2020 – 2021 season. Because of this the Board of Directors, after much deliberation have decided to refund all fees paid to the club minus a small percentage for admin fees and a small amount for membership fees.

With the upcoming AGM, our bylaws state that you must be a member in good standing to vote, with this in mind we understand that the past year has been hard on everyone financially and have made membership fees as financially feasible as possible. The board has voted on changing our membership fees to $10 for the 2020 – 2021 season. If you have yet to pay your membership dues and are wanting to do so, please don’t hesitate to contact our Executive Director, Emily Furlot at 250-224-6242.

We are needing to fill two spots on the board of directors (President and Director at Large) and strongly encourage our membership to think about who they think would be a good fit for our executive family. We will be accepting nominations through email, phone and text the night of the AGM.

Because of the current COVID restrictions we are not permitted to host the AGM in person, so we will be transitioning to an online platform. The AGM will be streamed on our Facebook page as well as through our website and voting will be a simple process through a google form. If you have any questions you are wanting to ask at the AGM, we encourage you to send us an email in advance at Questions the night of will be accepted through Facebook comments, email, phone or text to 250-224-6242.

The year end financials and minutes from our previous AGM are posted on our website and we encourage you to familiarize yourself with them before the meeting. They can be found at, click on the “news” tab, then select the tab you would like to view.

We would once again like to thank our membership for your constant support and understanding throughout the ever changing world of COVID-19.
